Brand development including packaging & mail order website for boutique London bakery

POP Bakery is the British home of Cake POPs run by Clare O'Conell. Clare has written two best-selling books and her amazing cake-on-a-stick creations have been featured in magazines such as Vogue, Grazia, Elle and are often seen at the most stylish parties and fashion events.

I have worked with Clare on various projects since 2012 when POP Bakery’s core business was weddings and events. Clare wanted to expand the gifting side of the business and in 2019 I started to work on rebranding, overhauling the website and mail order system to start selling box sets of POPs online - perfect for sending out as gifts for birthdays, new babies, to say thank you, anniversary, valentines and more…

The new flexible gift packaging is based on the idea of using a stock size box to hold 8 POPs - each order can then be personalised by the customer choosing from a variety of illustrated wraps and greetings stickers - including a space for a handwritten note. These new personalised box sets have been so well received - quickly becoming the go-to sweet gift to send to loved ones!

In addition to the new website and packaging system - I also set up a Mailchimp newsletter template and social media campaigns.

“Rachel has designed every part of POP from our main website to the stickers on our boxes. It’s been a long and important journey working with her and she’s helped make POP the lovely brand it is today. She is not only incredibly creative but also very tech savvy as well as business minded so has offered heaps of advice as well as inspiration over the years. It’s been a joy to work with her.”
