Rebrand and packaging for luxury British brand making award-winning tableware

Melody Rose is an award winning brand known for high quality, contemporary bone china tableware and luxurious homeware with an elegant twist. Founded in 2012 all pieces are designed in London and handmade in Stoke on Trent.

In 2020 Melody Rose won the Tableware International Award of Excellence. To celebrate this huge achievement, founder Melanie Roseveare approached me to ‘refresh’ her logo and make suggestions on ways her branding could reflect the positioning that the brand had gained over the 8 years since start up.

The brand was flourishing so it was important to keep the essence of the branding recognisable. I wanted a decadent, 1920s, deco, slightly quirky look but still clean and modern to match Melanie’s designs. I redrew the logo with a serif typeface and extended parts of initial letters and created a new small-use emblem and a repeat pattern from the letters.

New packaging materials included bespoke tissue paper using the repeat pattern, stickers and labels, postcards and a printed folded card with space to write a note if needed.

“We could not be happier with the results, we were actually overwhelmed with how fantastic everything looked. Rachel was wonderful to work with and she really went that extra mile to make sure everything was perfect and helped to make sure all the elements were implemented.
